A friend put this together... "Hmmm...why are they fighting so hard to take power away from the States and why are some people so excited to give the Federal Government more and more power? It is bizarre. Breakdown of proposed legislation: 1. Federalize control over congressional elections" - there is no good argument to keep giving them more control at the Federal level - voting law is and should remain the responsibility of the States NOT the Fed. 2. Declare that standard state and local maintenance of elections systems, such as purging ineligible voters from voter rolls, limiting vote-by-mail, requiring voter ID, and establishing rules against felons voting, "would erode the right to vote"; - Oh give me a break! I can't help to think only the willfully ignorant, foolish and/or dishonest would agree with this conclusion. 3. Restrict lawsuits against the rules in S. 1 to the federal court system, which is, coincidentally, favorable to Democrats; - I see...we should do what the Federal commands and if they mistreat or abuse your RIGHTS that's just too bad. Wake UP!! 4. Establish online and automatic voter registration without requiring proof of identity, residency or citizenship; - This is insidious! The only reason to do this is so the ineligible are able to vote illegally. 5. Protect illegal immigrants from prosecution if they vote; - No. If you break the law you should pay the price. - Why would we protect or enable criminal activities? 6. Establish same-day voter registration; - this is a good idea as long as ID is required. 7. Register minors to vote; - WHAT? No. Voting is a serious responsibility and removing the need to register encourages apathy and ignorance in a demographic that is already un/misinformed and lazy. 8. Mandate early voting; Why? Because 25% of independent Biden voters said they wouldn't have if they'd known about the laptop? 9. Establish nationwide vote-by-mail without a voter ID; No. This is stupid and wrong. They are all but saying "we want to make it as easy as possible to commit voter fraud", and Allow ballots to be counted ten days after Election Day. - WHY? Because it gives more time to get the outcome you wanted? Just slimy."
